“Malmö
Over the last ten years Malmö’s Västra Hamnen has become a hive
of culture and activity. One of the latest editions is the
Stapelbäddsparken Skateboard Park. Designed by Oregon-based
skater and artist Stefan Hauser, the skate park is an impressive
landscape of bumps, slopes, steel-rimmed edges, and a kidney shaped
pool. The flowing concrete surfaces give the park the feel of an
abstract artwork. That doesn’t mean people stand around staring at it;
in fact skaters travel from all around the world to take their ride on
this modern skating marvel.
Rightly so, the 2000 square-meter concrete landscape was awarded a
World Cup Skateboarding fixture in its first year.”
